I stopped asking,
I stopped reaching,
I learned silence,
I walked away.
Life kept moving,
People came closer,
I smiled again,
I seemed healed.
But certain evenings,
Still carry you,
Certain old songs,
Still find me.
I buried memories,
Not their warmth,
I closed doors,
Not every feeling.
I want belonging,
Without looking backwards,
I want peace,
Without denying love.
Perhaps I’ve moved,
But something remains,
A quiet attachment,
Without a home.
Can I release,
What once felt,
Like somewhere safe,
Like being understood?
