The Moon hears footsteps
before they reach the door,
it feels another’s sorrow
and quietly asks for more.
Venus brings tenderness,
a sweetness soft and bright,
it wants the wounded heart
to leave the room in light.
So when another suffers,
your own heart starts to ache,
you search for words of comfort,
for every peace to make.
You notice every silence,
each tremor in a voice,
you sense another’s sadness
before they make a choice.
Moon feels what others feel,
Venus seeks to heal the pain;
their happiness becomes your peace,
their tears become your rain.
You give away your evening,
you rearrange your plans,
you hold another’s worries
with gentle, open hands.
You swallow small objections,
you soften every “no,”
because a little sacrifice
may keep the love aglow.
Yet somewhere in the giving,
your own wishes fade from sight;
you become skilled at pleasing,
but forget what feels right.
And this is where the sadness
of Moon and Venus lies:
you may read another’s heart
while yours remains disguised.
Their sorrow is not yours.
Their joy is not your role.
Love may touch another heart
without consuming your soul.
Let disappointment visit.
Let disagreement stay.
Not every wounded feeling
must be carried away.
You can love without rescuing.
You can care without control.
You can hold another gently
without surrendering your soul.
Moon listens. Venus loves.
Both seek a peaceful heart.
But love becomes more truthful
when two whole selves can part—
not from affection,
not from tenderness,
not from the warmth they share,
but from the quiet belief
that love means always being there.
A heart can give and stay.
A heart can love and breathe.
A heart can say “I care for you”
and still refuse to leave itself beneath.
Another’s joy may touch your heart,
their sorrow may pass through;
but love should never ask the soul
to disappear for two.
Haiku
Their tears fill your heart
You forget your own quiet
Love asks you to stay
Another smiles bright
You mistake their joy for yours
Where is your own heart?
Moon listens deeply
Venus reaches out with love
Boundaries bring peace
