while Jupiter brings wisdom

you notice when someone is hurting,
you comfort the tired and weak.
You offer advice with warmth,
you encourage them to rise,

has settled behind their eyes.
You remember everyone’s burdens,
their failures, fears, and dreams’,
you gather their scattered pieces
and repair their broken seams.
When someone needs protection,
you willingly take the role,
you become the quiet shelter
when storms disturb their soul.
But somewhere beneath the giving,
your own needs wait unseen;
you keep postponing your hunger
for everyone else’s serene.
You tell yourself, “They need me.”
You say, “I can manage somehow.”
You keep another heart comfortable
while your own asks, “What about now?”
Jupiter may call it wisdom.
The Moon may call it care.
But even the generous heart
can become tired from being there.
You cannot become everyone’s teacher,
everyone’s parent, guide, or light;
even the strongest shelter
needs somewhere to rest at night.
