I remember us,
Perhaps imagined us,
Those little moments,
Those almost promises.
I keep holding,
What never happened,
A distant possibility,
A familiar ache.
I cannot leave,
I cannot arrive,
Somewhere between,
I keep waiting.
Your silence speaks,
My hope answers,
Your absence grows,
My longing stays.
I want belonging,
A place beside you,
A heart that stays,
A love returned.
But am I devoted,
Or afraid of endings?
Am I still hoping,
Or refusing goodbye?
Some stories linger,
Without becoming home.
